The New Chevy Volt: How it Works

We have the new Chevrolet Volts in stock! We have already been selling the Volt and wanted to take some time to dispel some myths, rumors and confusion about the Volt.

The Volt is Chevrolet's new electric car. But the Volt is different because it also has a gas generator onbard. This enables the Volt to travel long distances without being plugged in. One of our associates drove the Volt to Little Rock and back (a 6 hour round-trip drive) without ever plugging it in.

Chevy's website describes how the Volt works, saying: Energy is stored onboard in a 16–kWh, T–shaped lithium–ion battery. The battery powers the electric drive unit, which is capable of meeting full vehicle speed and acceleration performance while driving the car electrically for an initial range without using a drop of gas. And when Volt's electric range has been used up, a gas engine works with the electric motors to keep you going. So whether you want to go crosstown or cross-country, you're free to drive wherever you want, efficiently. And even though Volt plugs into any standard 120 V household outlet, if you don't have a chance to charge it, all you have to do is fill it up just like you do with your car now.

The kids made gingerbread houses and the houses are on display in our showroom. You can come vote on your favorite house. Votes are 1 cent each, and donations go to the American Cancer Society!

Our very own Janet Delcour has been very busy helping customers with brand new rides! This is Janet and Michael with his 2008 Nissan!

This is Mr. and Mrs. Davenport with their new Cadillac CTS!

This is Mr. and Mrs. Clark. She had been in eyeing the new Cadillacs, and as soon as one came to our lot off the truck, she was here to buy it! She is so excited about her new car!

And this is a unique story! This is Bill. Bill was visiting Fort Smith from Arizona and was having battery issues with his Cadillac Escalade. While he was having his Escalade serviced, Bill decided to upgrade to a NEW Cadillac Escalade and traded his in right then and there!

Then he drove home to Arizona in his new car!

We also had a giveaway on our Facbook page where we gave away an iPad!

Today we broke ground on our new Nissan location! In 9-12 months (weather and construction permitting!) we will have a brand new state-of-the-art Nissan facility!

We were so honored and blessed yesterday to be a part of a Make-A-Wish presentation yesterday!

Jaelyn, a beautiful and sweet 12-year-old girl, came with her family to our lot, thinking that she was going car shopping with her grandparents. But when they were looking at a Chevy Cruze in our showroom, Jaelyn got a great surprise....her wish was granted and she and her family were going on a Disney cruise!

We had the opportunity to donate to support the Fort Smith Fire Fighters by placing an ad in the program for their Comedy and Magic show. The show will be July 23 at Southside High School at 7:00 PM. The money raised at this fundraiser show will go to Camp Sunshine- a division of the Arkansas Children's Hospital burn unit).

The Fire Fighters were so kind to present us with this certificate for our contribution.
